Indian Butter Chicken Vegan and Dairy free Sauce

Butter Chicken or murg makhani is one of the most popular curries at any Indian restaurant around the world. What's better than preparing it in less than 20 minutes?

Recipe for 3 to 4 persons:

2 Jars of Whisktaker Butter Chicken sauce

1 kg boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breast.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil.

For the rice:

1 cup basmati rice

1 3/4 cups water

1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

1- Pour the oil in a pan or skillet.

2- Add the chicken to the heated oil and stir fry on high heat until cooked.

3- Pour the sauce in the jar and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

For the Rice:

1- Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan.

2- Stir in the rice and the salt; cover and reduce the heat to low.

3- Simmer for 15 minutes until all of the water is absorbed. Taste the rice; if it is still too firm, add a few more tablespoons of water.

4- Cover the pan and let the rice absorb the water off of the heat.

 

Notes:

- The sauce contains all necessary spices and salt. Be careful before adding more salt.

- Our butter chicken sauce is dairy free and doesn't contain animal products. 

- In case you would like the sauce to be creamier you can add 1/2 cup of coconut cream or 1/2 a cup of fresh cream.
