Recipe

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients: (Serves 3 to 4)

  • 500g shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 jar Whisktaker Butter Chicken Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
  • Cooked basmati rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Vegetables: Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are just cooked through.
  3. Add the Sauce: Pour the Whisktaker Butter Chicken Sauce into the pan with the shrimp and vegetables. Stir to coat the shrimp and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  4. Finish the Dish: Stir in the fresh lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve the Butter Shrimps over a bed of cooked basmati rice and an optional side of naan bread.

How to cook the basmati rice:

  1. Rinse 1 cup of basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium pot, add 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil.
    1. Add the rinsed basmati rice to the boiling water.
    2. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
    3. Once done, fluff the rice with a fork and set aside.

    How to Store and Reheat

We would totally suggest making a few extra servings when you cook the recipe, as it is perfect for meal prepping! You can store it in:

    • The refrigerator: The curry stays fresh for up to 3 days if stored in the refrigerator.
    • The freezer: The curry can be stored in the freezer for 2-3 months. This is my preferred method since it lasts a lot longer and tastes as delicious when defrosted and warmed up!
